I rented a furnished flat in Lier for one year by myself through Immo Coppieters with a down payment of three-month rents . Because of my profession I mainly was traveling around and in total I just spent 4-5 months in this apartment for sleeping only. This guy in partnership with the landlord just assumed that the deposit is his... They took about 2000 euros of my deposit for some small things such as a smoke detector in living room was not working! and I am not even sure if it was working at first place because there was no fire in this place during my tenancy!! I even got charged for screws missing in door hinges that were never there to start with!! They also charged me about 450 euros for not providing them with a dry cleaner receipt for curtains, although they believed the curtains are recently washed and clean, but obviously not enough for not charging me. ........Scary!! Stay away from dealing with this estate agency.
